Most of us don’t like “Silence”.- I wonder why, oh I get it. Silence forces us to come face to face with ourselves,and when confronted with ourselves the results is not always encouraging or pleasant.
We all feel a nudge, a desire to be seen and heard. We want to be somebody in the eyes of others,we crave the need to be relevant,It is a natural tendency because we are created as relational species and In the bid of trying to be relevant or being heard we often drown out that inner voice.
We are constantly searching for what we already have,when all that we need or will need has been inputed in each of us,if we only take a moment and look within.Myles Munroe said severally that every seed has the capacity to become a tree,with fruits and seeds in it. God already deposited the seed of greatness in you and I, sometimes we just need to shut down the noise on the outside in order to hear the “still small voice”. I am really working at this.
If you want to know yourself,turn off the TV, the radio,all the socia media for just few minutes and you will suddenly sense this calmness around you, I have to admit this can be a difficult task to do,(I mean turning off the TV, or not surfing the net for a few minutes).
The other day while the boys were in school,I took my time to listen to one of Anthony Robbins audio material,while listening to it ,he gave an instruction to pause the tape, and try to experience some quietness. and I did try it for about an hour and then slept off. afterwards 🙂
Do you know that when sitting in silence we can hear and see things we otherwise wouldn’t.Silence helps to bring us back to the place of rest and clarity within. Away from the noisely populated world,we need time in our day to cultivate Silence and live with a sense of Peace.
………”A time to keep silent!(selah).
