My love for music goes way back, and apparently that what I do for a living. Making music-writing and composing. Watch out, you will might see me in your Neighbourhood on tour real soon. 😉
The first instrument I picked was the piano,I remember how much I wanted to play that instrument but somehow I lost the zest for it,then came the guitar,it was love at first sight and the way we both connected while just trying to run my fingers through,I knew it will be a love that we last a lifetime.(Thanks to India Arie and Asa). These soul sisters influenced my love for the guitar.
Something happened in my preliminary stage with the guitar, I was in the middle of my Album project and we had to do a photo session.
My video and photo-shoot director, said he would take some shots with me and the guitar,
“For real”? I thought to myself. That wont be possible I have just started learning to play and you want me to pose with the guitar already? The photo-session was great, then the decision was made to put some of the shots with me and my guitar on the album cover. What that meant was intense practicing from then on.
“You must be able to defend your music with the picture you are showing forth. You look great with your guitar, now you have to start sounding great on the guitar” said my producer.
I am no guru yet, I am still trying my best to sound great on my guitar, as it is a continuous journey . I have been blessed to have written some of my best songs on the guitar so far.
The pain of my fingers sometimes, makes me forget to rehearse ,but anytime I pick that baby, it is sweet communion as we both strike the chords together.
In response to Daily Post, Strike a chord!
