Celebrating Womanhood.

I have been sitting on one side of my bed staring into the white screen right in front of me, pondering on the question,”what do I want to do with this blog?

One of the many reasons for blogging is to be able to write books along the line . I have one unfinished book about “Womanhood”that I have abandoned since 2015 or thereabout, because of one reason or another. One of my girlfriends sent me the final draft of her book yesterday and she told me she finished the 75 page book in 3 days.

She practically shut down from all distraction, no phones, no friends, nothing. We were chatting this morning ,apparently she’s out of hibernation.

” Our problem is not time, she said.

‘It is the absence of commitment!,

For a moment I had to ponder on that! really and truly the reason we don’t get to do what we really need to do, is not because there is no time, It is because we are not fully committed to doing it.

We give excuses, especially as women. God bless us women, with the grace and ability to multitask and do a zillion and one thing simultaneously, yet deep down in our hearts we yearn for more out of life.

I have come across great women in my life , who are great not because they ceo’s, or directors or founders or anything  but because of their uniqueness as women from all works of life.

One of the lifestyle solution I am embracing this new year, Is to dedicate one day of the week to “celebrate” the woman in me and all the women all over the world no matter the color, creed or  conviction. I know that as women we have been wired to be enhancers, nurturers, builders, solution providers among many other things.

We are creatively endowed within and without, sometimes we fail to see it and sometimes we want to get affirmation from externals, yes ! it because, apart from being givers we are also natural receivers.

You may or may not agree with me, but it is extremely difficult to be a woman in this day and age, women all over the world are faced with the dilemma of identity, struggling to discover who we are and  we stand today in family, the community and the world ,and almost at the same time  our personal responsibilities and expectations are changing in some part of this present world.

Though many of us are building careers, women in ministries, politics, science and technology and more ,we are also still saddled with childbearing, family upkeep and household chores, which most often leaves us exhausted and disillusioned.

We struggle with the delicate balancing of attending to families, career, emotional turmoil, spiritual burnout, conflicts, cultural and economic changes, beneath all these varying challenges lies the great potentials we have been grafted with, before time began. It is to this end, t I will love to celebrate every woman the world over once a week- Wednesday celebrating Womanhood! WcW. That’s a beautiful catch phrase right :D.

It could be an article, poem, quote, song, photo or anything but the bottom line is to give every woman out there, young, old, single, married, divorced, widowed, black, white, brown, blue however a “High five” for all her exploit as a phenomenal woman.

In the words of the wise king Solomon,

Many women do noble things, but YOU surpass them all- Pro 31:29

I salute your courage noble women!

Thank you for a brilliant post, I keep asking myself when I fail to commit myself to achieving what I will have set myself to do, what has happenned to that saying. ‘where there is a will there is a way’ if I really want to write I will make time it is a matter of not having the will.

Yes my Sister, We just have to make the time, out of no time. It is a matter of doing it as if our lives depend on it, because in actual fact, our lives does depend on it!
Thank you for taking time to read through.
