Just the other day

news flashed

from up north

another senseless killing.

 

hundreds of people

Men women old and young

shattered dreams laid lifeless on the ground

Oh when will all these dark doom be over

The nation was thrown into mourning yet again.

 

Our government, seem unperturbed!

We were still in black raiment

Then the messenger of death

struck down south

with great inferno.

 

many lives burnt to ashes

People saw death

face to face

Nothing could be done.

 

O death where is thy sting

O LORD, where is your face

we cry for mercy.

 

In a week hundreds of homes

have been thrown into deep oceans of wailing

without comfort

we raise our hands to thee o Father of light

let this darkness hovering over our land

enough of this anarchy and bloodshed.
