Jasmine had never built a healthy image of herself. Rejection during her early years had left her feeling out of place, unloved and unlovable. She would often write about her experiences in her journal. which was like her passageway to her reality, where she kept track of life’s eventualities.
In one of her entry she wrote;
“Once upon a time, there was a little girl who grew up in a brick tower, the tower grew taller as she grew older, there was not a single window or door in this dark tower, to let in fresh air or even the ray of sunlight, she lived and grew in that gloomy darkness for a very long time, the feeling of helplessness overwhelmed her day in day out as she heard voices from outside occasionally, but she couldn’t reach out, because she thought no one will pay attention to a helpless fragile soul like hers.
She had tried severally to pound on these thick dark wall in an effort to draw attention but no one came to her rescue, no one was willing to take the time or the trouble to help her find her way out of the many years of gloom…
As the days turned into months she became quieter-she wasn’t important or clever, no one would care to discover her, until one day!
A light shone and penetrated into the brick wall, Jasmine looks up, amazed, The roof of the tower was gone. Sunshine and fresh air permeated the air and removed the staleness and gloom that she was already familiar with. It was a miracle indeed, as she recognized that the light shone as a result of her posture to help from above- God
Gradually she began to remove the old brick of worthlessness and her distorted self-concept, a new image began to form gradually and this time no one could resist the gracefulness and charm that was buried in this ” once upon a time little girl”
A new attitude began, giving way for the expressions of the beautiful attributes she was born with, these expressions changed her environment and the light within her caused people to gravitate to her, nothing could stop her in her track this time- she has started living on a new altitude.
