Do you know it is quite easy to really forget who you are and what’s critical to you if you’re spending time with other people?
What happens when all you do is just to spend time with people, get lost in the crowd? we get easily influenced by the opinions and the actions from others, much more dangerous than this is that we pretend to be something we are not just for the sake of measuring up with the “Joneses”
Having some alone time is a way of coming out of the crowd, breaking away from the junks of life, to look inward and behind the mask that we sometimes put on. who are you when there’s nobody to impress? when you’re alone and what other people think about you is of no relevance because they are not in that “alone space” with you.
when there is no one to blame or no one to take advantage of you except you!it just you and reality, that’s when you actually come to terms with the real YOU- The true essence of your being, that’s when you become clear about life and purpose and what’s trIMAGEuly important. It is in that space that being honest with oneself and taking responsibility for yourself becomes easier.
Jesus Christ as much as he was loved by the crowd and also loved to hang out with them recognised the power of having some “alone time” that’s why the Bible will say, He went away from the crowd… at different times. It was in those times when no one was watching that He became more and more aware of His purpose because those times afforded him ample opportunity of communion with the Father.
It was in one of such times, He had to battle with the decision of going to the cross! It wasn’t a pleasant task at all, he could go all the way because He knew his purpose was the CROSS.
Are you being pulled by the complexities of life? Or encumbered with the pressures of pleasing the crowd? It’s about time you pull yourself away from the “Joneses”.
